I purchased my first show dog in 1972 an Irish Setter.
I have bred Champion Irish Setters, German Shorthaired Pointers and Shetland
Sheepdogs.
I purchased my first sheltie in 1976. He was a Herding
expert of Irish Setters & German Shorthaired Pointers. His name
was Ch. Bydand Frostmaster. Frostie was sired by Am. Ch. Banchory
Thunderblue, his dame was out of a Fairisle bitch sired by POW. In
the early 80’s I decided to downsize and am now only owned by Shelties
and one Affenpinscher.
In 1992 I decided to complete the necessary steps to acquire
my judges license and have been judging since 1994. I am licensed
for Groups 1, 5, 6 & 7. I have judged numerous Sheltie Specialties
in the US & Canada. Some other specialties I have judged are
The Canadian Vizsla National Specialty, Weimaraner Specialty New Jersey,
Bulldog Specialty, Sporting Dog Specialty, Brittany Spaniel Specialty,
Australian Cattle Dog Specialty, German Shepherd Specialty, German Shorthair
Specialty Northern California, Papillon National Specialty Puppy Sweeps
& Atlantic Group 7 Specialty to name a few.
I am a LIFE Member of the Canadian Kennel Club, Director
for Western Ontario for the Canadian Dog Judges Association, Vice President,
ROMC Chair and Discipline Co Chair of the Canadian Shetland Sheepdog and
have been a member of their executive for 13 years as well as Canadian
Kennel Club Dog Show Rep for Zone 7. I was a 25 year member of the
Elgin County Kennel Club and am currently a member of the Forest City Kennel
Club.
Outside my dog life I am the Operations Manager for one of Canada’s
largest independently owned Insurance Brokerages.
